Searches, releases & imports

Search for releases, review imports and renames, and follow server commands through to their result.

Choose the service first

Open a title from Library or Calendar and check its service badge before making changes. Profiles, root folders, tags and release results belong to that server. Two entries with the same title on different servers remain separate.

The available tools depend on the service. Sonarr manages series and episodes, Radarr manages movies, and Lidarr manages artists, albums and tracks. Prowlarr search queries the indexers managed by Prowlarr.

Automatic and manual search

An automatic search asks the server to find a release using its own profiles and rules. Manual Search lets you review the releases it returns and filter that list before choosing one.

Turn on Include rejected releases to see releases the server rejected. Read the rejection reasons before using Grab with override…. Grabbing a release asks for confirmation, and an override requires the explicit Override rejection and grab action.

A successful grab submits the release to the server’s download workflow. Follow its progress in the queue; it does not mean the media is downloaded or imported yet.

Manual import

1. Open Manual import from the title’s tools and enter a folder path accessible to that server. This is a server path, not a folder in your phone’s Files app.
2. Review the candidates. Select the files you want and use Review matching & quality to correct their match or quality.
3. Apply matching changes and review the server’s updated results and rejection reasons.
4. Choose the import mode, then review and confirm Import files.

Copy — keep source files is the default. Move — remove source files asks the server to remove the originals as part of moving them. The server needs access to both the source and destination paths.

Rename files and manage the queue

Rename files shows the current and proposed names from the server. Review that preview before confirming the rename.

When removing a queue entry, read the options for removing it from the download client, blocklisting it and preventing another download. These affect the server’s workflow; they are separate from removing a service from Managerr.

Accepted commands and offline data

Search, refresh, rescan, rename and import can return an accepted command before the work finishes. Watch the command status and the server’s queue, history or logs for the result. Managerr does not automatically retry writes.

If a request times out after an action, check whether the server already accepted it before sending it again. When a server is unavailable, previously saved information can remain visible. Check its freshness and reconnect before relying on it for a new action.
